Cardano community is going to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its release on the September 29, Charles Hoskinson revealed in a short video posted on Twitter. The Cardano CEO said that special celebrations will be conducted in Tokyo and also celebratory events will be conducted ‘throughout the world’.
Hoskinson also shared some information in brief about the announcements that are going to be made on the day of the anniversary. He announced the launch of Infinito mobile wallet and told it is the company’s ‘first foray into this space’. He mentioned in the video that some parts of the mobile wallet’s design are based on Cardano’s projects, Prometheus and Icarus.
Prometheus is a backend toolbox that is used to power multiple wallets including a command line wallet. Hoskinson, in his video, also revealed that the Cardano community can expect some Prometheus related news coming out at the end of the month. He hinted the update to be about the command line client feature of Prometheus.
Hoskinson also said that Emurgo is planning for a release on the Cardano anniversary. Emurgo is a Japanese incubator that helps businesses that are focussed on advancing the blockchain technology.
Cardano is an open source cryptocurrency project that uses proof of stake algorithm called Ouroboros to mint coins. It was officially launched last year on September 29. The coins market cap was around $ 600 million in October 2017. It surged to over $33bn in January 2018. It is one of the most secure and scalable blockchain networks in the market.
